Here, he is, the last swallowtail caterpillar of the season. He’s been living on store-bought parsley because all the other caterpillars decimated the original crop.

I love what’s left over after finishing a piece of art… the unused supplies, the specks of paint and ink, the scraps of paper….. So pretty!

Walking with Grampa

Still feeling a little nostalgic for family and the beach this morning. Thankfully, half of that will be cured in a mere 12 hours as I make my way to North Carolina!

Flashback portraits…

Today has involved a lot of reflection on family and the beach, two things that are forever intertwined in my life. Going back through some photos from this spring, I found two that I just love, and wanted to share.

Mmmmm, cider.

It’s apple season in Michigan! The day we arrived, our friends whisked us off to a local cider mill – where they served not only hot cider but cider slushies. And donuts. If I could start every day with a cider slush and a donut, I’d be happier than happy.

I loved these crates – if I could have packed one away to bring home I would (they would have made the perfect bookcase). Many of them also still had the labeling tags on them – and one or two had their “picked by” tags. Those quickly explained the presence of the SuperMercado back in town. 🙂
